Calvary Acquisition 2021
Japara joins Calvary
Japara has joined Calvary in November 2021. Calvary is a charitable, not-for-profit, Catholic health care organisation established in Australia in 1885 by the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary.
With the exciting addition of Japara’s 50 aged care homes and 5 retirement villages, Calvary now has over 18,000 staff and volunteers across 14 Public and Private Hospitals, 72 Residential Care and Retirement Communities and a national network of 19 Community Care service centres.
We now share the same Values, and our Mission is to provide quality and compassionate health, community and aged care services through ‘Being for Others’.
“Calvary is in an exciting phase of growth, and the Japara acquisition enables us to influence the future delivery of health, aged and community care services across Australia”, says Calvary’s National CEO, Martin Bowles.
While the transition is still underway, both organisations have worked tirelessly to make the integration of Japara into Calvary as smooth as possible. We have always put the health and wellbeing of our residents front and centre, keeping interruptions or changes at all our aged care homes and retirement villages to an absolute minimum. All care and services will continue to be provided by the people our residents know and trust.
At Calvary, everyone is welcome, and we are excited about the many opportunities that this acquisition will bring and the benefits that will become available being part of a larger diversified health care organisation.
