104 of the finest
Our Noosa community celebrated a huge milestone last week, with one of our residents, Pat, reaching her 104th birthday!
Pat was born in Katoomba in 1915 as an only child to parents Eida, a business owner, and Edward, a builder.
She attended Mount Saint Mary’s College in the Blue Mountains, an experience that she recounts fondly.
After her mother’s passing, Pat and her father moved to England; however, became stuck there due to the war in 1939.
Pat met Andy during this time, and they married in 1946. The couple then returned to live in Australia a decade later. Pat worked in administration for General Motors (Holden), while Andy worked in engineering. They lived in Melbourne for a long time before moving to Northern Queensland in 1978.
The couple had a son, Anthony (pictured with Pat below) and a daughter, Patricia. Anthony frequently visits Pat, and was on hand for Wednesday’s celebrations with Pat’s former neighbour.
From all of us at Japara, we wish you a very happy birthday, Pat!
