A passion for care at Japara Brighton-Le-Sands

Spend just a few minutes with Manoj Joseph and you immediately get a sense of his passion for providing excellent care.

The Home Manager of Japara’s Brighton-Le-Sands residential aged care home has a background in nursing and has worked in aged care for the past 8 years.

He joins the Brighton-Le-Sands team as staff and residents make the move into a brand new modern home.

Located at 2 Reading Road, next door to the existing Jenny Lyn Home, it will cater for 60 residents in a range of different room options, for both individuals and couples.

The home’s boutique size is an important factor for Manoj, who said he was drawn to working for Japara because of the company’s vision to “enrich every life we touch.”

“As a Home Manager, I put this vision into practice by knowing each individual resident personally – that’s really, really important,” he said. “My focus will be on providing care that is tailored to each individual’s personal preferences. It’s essential that residents have choices and are involved in the decision-making process when it comes to their care, wellbeing and lifestyle.”

Another priority for Manoj is working with his team to create engaging and varied lifestyle programs and dining experiences.

“The loveliest part of my day is my walk around each morning,” Manoj said. “I go out and see my residents and ask them ‘how was your day yesterday?’; ‘how was the food yesterday?’ Getting their feedback is incredibly important for me.”
