Calvary proposal to acquire Japara

29 July 2021
Japara Healthcare has recently reached an agreement with Little Company of Mary Health Care (known as Calvary) to proceed with a process to acquire Japara.
The proposed acquisition will be subject to Japara shareholders’ approval by the requisite majorities at the Scheme Meeting expected to be held in October 2021.
If successful, we expect this process to be completed by early November 2021.

Who is Calvary?

Calvary is a charitable, Catholic, not-for-profit organisation with more than 12,000 staff and volunteers, 14 public and private hospitals, 17 retirement and aged care facilities, and a national network of Community Care centres.  Calvary operates across six states and territories within Australia.
Established in Sydney in 1885, Calvary’s mission is to provide health care to the most vulnerable, including those reaching the end of their life and shares much in common with Japara’s own vision and values.

How will this impact the services I receive at Japara?

It is life as usual for everyone at Japara and this change of ownership should have no impact on the day-to-day leading aged care our residents receive.
If you have any questions about the process, please contact us on 1800 52 72 72 for further information.
