Flu Vaccination Information
Here are some important updates from the Australian Government regarding the flu vaccination, and how they will affect those wishing to enter Japara homes during the flu season this year.
Governmental policy updates
On the 18th of March 2020, the Prime Minister announced a new directive to anyone entering an aged care home in Australia. The new guidelines state that from the 1 May 2020, anyone entering an aged care home must be able to provide evidence that they’ve had their annual flu vaccination. This includes:
- All employees
- Healthcare partners
- Gardeners and maintenance staff
This ruling will ensure that the most vulnerable people in our communities are kept safe.
Japara visitor regulations updates
At Japara, we will be requesting evidence from anyone entering our homes that they have received this season’s flu vaccination.
For those who haven’t had the flu vaccination this year, we encourage you all to get in touch with your local GP, or flu vaccination provider as soon as possible to make an appointment.
