Gardening with Janardhan

Janardhan, one of the residents at our Yarra West home, has developed a passion for gardening since moving to Australia.

“Gardening is a form of exercise that gets me out in the sun, keeps me occupied and mentally stress-free,” Janardhan said.

He claims that he never knew much about gardening before moving over here, but grew fond of it from observing his friends and neighbours. Janardhan says you “can learn from anyone who knows gardening”, and at Yarra West, you’ll often find him out in the garden sharing his knowledge with other residents and building friendships as a result.

Gardening reminds Janardhan of watching his kids grow and blossom into the people they are today. “Seeing something you planted grow little by little each day makes you feel like you’ve accomplished something. It makes me proud.”
