Joy Lowe | Lifestyle Officer at Anglesea

In acknowledgment of International Women’s Day and the #celebratingwomeninagedcare campaign, we are profiling some of the wonderful Japara women throughout the month of March.

Below, Joy Lowe talks a little about her story and experience working as a Lifestyle Officer at Japara Anglesea.

Hi, my name is Joy Lowe, aka Joyful. I work at the amazing Anglesea Aged Care Home as a lifestyle officer.

I am a mum of 8-month-old twins, which we are so blessed to have. Both my role as a mum and as a lifestyle officer are to look after the social, mental, spiritual and physical well-being of others.

I have never finished school, as I am always learning. I have a BA Hons Degree in Recreational Management, a Diploma in Community Service Coordination, a Diploma in Sports Massage and a Diploma in Sports Studies. I have a Certificate IV in Lifestyle and in Personal Training, along with Pilates instructor and other fitness-related qualifications. I also have a Certificate III in Aged Care, plus many others.

I’m only interested in working in an industry that helps people with health and fitness.

Aged care is hard and comes with many challenges, such as emotional fatigue, but it is also highly emotionally rewarding too. And I LOVE working with my amazing team.
