Judy Scarrott | Resident at Mirridong
In support of the #celebratingwomeninagedcare campaign and International Women’s Day this month, we are profiling some of the amazing women who are part of the Japara community.
Judy Scarrott, a passionate tennis advocate and resident at Japara Mirridong in Bendigo (VIC) has shared her story with us.
I have been a resident of Mirridong Nursing Home since 2018.
During my life, I have been a great fan of tennis and the importance of sport and keeping fit. I have been part of the Tennis Foundation and continue to have input into this.
While growing up I was an avid tennis player with a great passion for building this as a fantastic sport. I have been part of Tennis Australia and have been honored with the Order of Australia for my part in forming and furthering Tennis Australia.
Outside of my tennis work, I am a wife, mother, and sister
While my children were growing I was also part of Rotary and supporting the Bendigo Hospital Children’s Aux.
Something that I wish people knew about living in aged care, is how fantastic the staff are and how much work they need to do on a daily basis to help all the residents.
