Loretta’s painting wins award

Loretta, a resident at Japara Bayview in Carrum Downs, has won an award for her beautiful painting – ‘Tropical Sunset 2.’ Loretta has been painting since she was six years old and is self-taught. She says that she doesn’t need photos or anything for inspiration – she is able to paint scenes like the tropical sunset one using only her imagination.

The art competition was organised by Monash Health’s mental health department, and the awards were presented by the Mental Health Complaints Commissioner Dr Lynne Barr. For the presentation, Loretta was joined by Wendy from Bayview’s Lifestyle team, as well as Loretta’s sister-in-law.
