Maurie is living his life as usual

Maurie, a resident at our Kingston Gardens aged care home (Springvale South, VIC) used to be a builder, and he loves to keep busy and feel useful.

Our staff recently asked Maurie what his goals were, to which he replied: “I want to work here”. As a result, our team arranged for Maurie to get his very own tool belt and tape measure, which he was very excited to receive. He is now busily writing down the measurements of various tables around the home and preparing a quote for Jodie, our Home Manager.

This person-centred, highly individualised support is helping Maurie live his life as usual at Japara Kingston Gardens.
