Narracan Gardens Ready for Remembrance Day

Staff and residents at our Narracan Gardens home in Newborough, Victoria have combined well to produce a fantastic display of hand-made poppies, just in time for Remembrance Day.

Residents and lifestyle staff have been working tirelessly to produce these poppies, with over 1100 produced by residents, including a great number by Frances Laird. The poppies that are hand made are kept at the home, whilst staff collect poppies from the RSL, and sell these to raise money for veterans.

For many, this is day is an emotional one, yet also a time to celebrate lives and positive memories of loved ones, and will be recognised with a ceremony at the home on Friday, November 10. During the ceremony, the Remembrance speech is read, followed by the laying of a wreath. Residents are invited to wear their family’s war medals, whilst family members are encouraged to attend.

Look out for photos from Narracan’s service coming soon!
