New additions at Mirridong

Our Mirridong family (Bendigo, VIC) recently welcomed two new additions – Snowflake and Snowdrop!

The nine-week-old female Silkie chickens have found a home in the garden of our dementia wing, and the residents have been assisting with feeding, patting and housing them each day. Our team at Mirridong decided to bring the pair into the aged care home as many of our residents are country born and raised chickens throughout their childhood, meaning looking after these two helps bring back fond memories for them.

The residents have been overjoyed by the addition of these new companions, and have been spending plenty of time out in the garden with them.
