Strzelecki House crowned winner of Excellence in Aged Care Award

Strzelecki House: Prime Super Employer Excellence in Aged Care Award at the 2020 Victorian Regional Achievement & Community Awards

The Victorian Regional Achievement and Community Awards recognise the achievements and successes of businesses, individuals and communities in regional and rural Victoria. These awards aim to encourage, acknowledge and reward valuable contributions to making Victoria a better place.

This year, Japara Strzelecki House has won the prestigious Prime Super Employer Excellence in Aged Care Award, which was presented by Hon Greg Hunt MP, Minister for Health, Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Public Service and Cabinet. This award recognises and acknowledges aged care facilities, organisations, businesses and not for profits making a positive difference in Victoria through the provision of quality services. It is awarded to those who have a strong focus on staff engagement, safety and well-being, training and providing staff with higher education learning opportunities and development.

“I decided to enter the awards because our staff really have been going above and beyond in a time where there is so much uncertainty with COVID 19. They were scared they would bring the Virus to work and in the same vain scared they would take it home. To live like that for such a long period of time takes its toll on everyone. I wanted to have them formally recognised for the amazing job that they do!”
