Superior Retirement Living at Japara Central Park

Japara are proud to announce that our recently refurbished Japara Central Park Nursing Home is now accepting new residents following the official opening of a multi-million dollar redevelopment in February 2017, which involved extensive refurbishment of the existing 5 levels of aged care accommodation in this facility.

It also included an exciting new addition – the imposing ‘skyline level’ on the 6th floor which offers 25 private rooms featuring panoramic views from Melbourne CBD to the bay and beyond, thanks to its convenient location at the corner of Punt Roads and Raleigh Streets in leafy inner city Windsor. Landscaping works are still continuing on the ground floor, which will feature a verdant courtyard with blooming flowers, expected to open soon. As part of our Japara Signature Indulgence Package, new residents on the top floor of Japara Central Park can look forward to enjoying a superior quality of retirement living in one of the world’s most liveable cities. Listed below are highlights they can expect as they walk through the door:

One of the first things new residents of Japara Central Park will notice as they enter the exclusive environs of the 6th floor ‘skyline level’ and walk into their spacious private rooms will be the large windows which frame magnificent views over surrounding neighbourhoods. Depending on the location of their room within this level, residents can expect long vistas towards Melbourne CBD taking in leafy St Kilda Boulevard and Fawkner Park to the north, views towards the bay over nearby St Kilda to the south and west or a lofty perspective over the historic Victorian and Edwardian-era properties of Windsor and Prahran to the east. They’ll also enjoy built-in microwaves, dishwashers, sinks and generous shelving in each room – making it an ideal space for entertaining family and friends as well their own private sanctuary from the busy world outside.

We certainly don’t want to make our residents feel old yet there’s no denying the timelessness of classic mid-century design, which enjoyed its heyday in the 1950’s and 1960’s! Giving the exclusive ‘skyline level’ a clean, bright modern feel yet with touches of classic mid-century glamour is the artful interior design which makes use of inviting Scandinavian armchairs, coffee tables and sofas with wooden trim, complimented by a duo of wood-panelled and cream coloured walls. We haven’t forgotten the importance of lighting in creating a soft, relaxed mood befitting a premium aged care facility either, with stylish focused downlights and lamps strategically placed within easy reach of residents grasp.

Last but not least, Japara Central Park Nursing Home, like all our aged care facilities is designed to be a thriving community for people of similar age, who whilst they might be retired are still keen to enjoy an active and fulfilling lifestyle while they still can. For this reason, our facility manager oversees a busy social calendar open to all residents (not just those living on level 6) which includes at least four activities every day of the week – ranging from boardgames in common areas, bus trips to nearby parks and beaches, cooking classes, armchair yoga and even the occasional rock’n’roll concert! We find these little extras where residents can meet one another, laugh and let their hair down do more to foster a sense of community than anything else!
