Flexible aged care: our different options

Respite Care:

A suitable option if an elderly loved one only requires short term accommodation at an aged care facility. Respite care is a short stay at an aged care facility. Usually providing carers with a small break from their caring duties, or an opportunity for loved ones to recover from a hospital stay, Respite Care allows your loved ones to also experience a different pace of life.

Japara offers quality Respite Care beds across our national network of aged care facilities, with these beds available for a couple of weeks at a time. By contacting us and organising for your loved one to spend some time in one of our Respite Care beds, you can give yourself a much needed break and also give your loved one a taste for residential aged care, should the need arise.

Permanent Care:

Permanent care is when your loved one moves into a residential aged care facility permanently. Their accommodation will consist of either a single or companion room with ensuite, and general lounge and dining areas. Residents are also provided with the clinical and personal care they require, all of their daily meals, laundry, cleaning and a variety of social activities.

Dementia Specific Care:

Japara is proud to also offer dementia specific care across our network of 43 aged care facilities around Australia. Some Japara facilities have Memory Support Units to cater to the care needs of those with dementia. If your loved one has dementia or a related condition such as Alzheimer’s, it might be worth contacting Japara today to see how we can help you and your family find the best care option for your loved one.
