Trugo Place: our aged care services

Trugo Place is the exciting new home from Japara that will provide leading aged care to our elderly residents. We offer a wide range of aged care options with a service to ensure all needs are cared for. Here, at Japara Trugo Place, residents will be able to enjoy the following aged care services:

Respite care

Respite care, as described by the Federal Government’s My Aged Care website, is an arrangement within the aged care industry whereby elderly individuals are able to stay in a residential care home for short periods of time, either on a one-off or regular basis. Respite care placements are generally for one or two weeks at a time, but can be longer, depending on the individual’s needs.

Japara is pleased to offer the option of respite care to the general community through our aged care homes in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Queensland and Tasmania. Once your loved one is placed in one of our respite care beds, they will enjoy the full range of amenities and services available to our permanent residents, including 24-hour care from our registered nurses.

Day Respite

This option gives individuals all the benefits of residential care on a short-term basis, either for a day or an overnight stay. Meals and supported care are provided for the duration of the stay, and the individuals are invited to participate in the leisure and lifestyle activities available at our home.

Short-Stay Respite

Respite care is ideal for when family and friends need a short break from looking after their loved one, or when an elderly person has left hospital and is not quite ready to return home. Individuals generally stay for a minimum of two weeks. Meals, laundry, cleaning and any clinical care required are all provided, and residents are encouraged to participate in the leisure and lifestyle activities available.

Permanent Residential Care

Permanent care is when an individual moves into one of our homes. They have the benefits of 24-hour care, beautiful and homely accommodation, meals and domestic services, and both social and mental stimulation through the leisure and lifestyle activities available. Our expert care team will work with you to create a personalised care plan tailored to individual needs and interests.

Our innovative residential care programs are designed to optimise health and wellbeing by incorporating a range of physical therapy, brain training, experiential and sensory therapies, as well as expertly prepared seasonal menus featuring a variety of fresh, delicious and nutritionally complete meals.

Transitional Rehab Care

Rehab Care is short term, supporting older people following a hospital stay. The major goal of rehabilitation is for older people to achieve mobility and self-care with minimal assistance. Our onsite physiotherapist and care coordinator will work with you to tailor a rehabilitation program that best suits your needs to aid in recovery.

“At Japara, care underscores everything we do. We are dedicated to delivering a better standard of residential living for elderly Australians, whether that person needs quality aged, palliative or respite care.”

Jess Suraci (Customer Relationship Team Leader)
