Love is in the air at Japara

Recently we were lucky enough to celebrate 60 years of marriage for Mr and Mrs Phillips at Japara Goonawarra. Elsa and Alan shared stories about their wedding and during their stay with us we have learnt all about their strong love for each other and the family they have raised together.

When Alan began respite care with Japara in 2019, he dreaded being apart from his beautiful Elsa. The moment she walked through Goonawarra’s doors to start her own respite program with us, he ran straight down the corridor to give her a big hug!

Both Alan and Elsa are now permanent residents at Goonawarra, and we are so pleased to have this kind and loving couple as part of the Japara family.

We also celebrated the start of a new marriage at Japara recently, when one of our residents was unable to attend his granddaughter’s wedding. The bride arrived at Japara Rosanna Views in full wedding dress and veil to celebrate her special day with her grandpa and his friends.
