What’s in a name?

Flavia, one of the residents at our Yarra West home, loves her name. It gives her a sense of identity and uniquity, and it’s something she cares deeply about.

Something as small as a personalised frame on her door (a little ‘homely’ touch we like to give our residents) brings Flavia great joy. She can often be seen stopping people in the hallway to point at her frame and say “that’s my name, this is my home” with a huge smile on her face.

The frames not only assist residents with remembering which room is theirs, but it also gives them a feeling of ownership, something that is extremely important when moving to an aged care home.

Pictured below is Flavia with her frame. She is particularly fond of roses, so we made sure they were included in the print.
